Environmental Charter & Ecotourism

Our commitments

1: We only work with native people in order to support their participation in responsible and sustainable activities.

2: We only take from the Nature what is cultivated in special authorized territories.

3: We look after preserving the quietness and the harmony of the fauna and flora.

4: We organize our logistics so as to use as little as fuel as possible. Thus your transportation will be used to load the food and linen you need for your stay.

5: We offer you a regional food, as biological as possible, mainly made of fishes.  A basket of season fruits will be at your disposal.

6: The solid residues produced in the Malocas Jungle Lodge (kitchen and toilets) are sorted regarding their composition. We use the organic one to do compost. The other one (paper, glass, plastic,…) are processed in Rio Preto da Eva.

7: We limit the use of disposable and non-recyclable packaging.

8: To control the use of water, energy and soap, we do not change your linen and your towel during your stay. They are washed and sterilized in Rio Preto da Eva.

9: To limit energy consumption we do not provide hot water.

10: The meals are served by candle light and the rooms are lighted by candles and oil lamps.

Your commitments

1: Hear and respect your guide and the local population. They know the Nature like anyone else.

2: Respect the animals habitat. When you enter the forest you are on their territory. If sometimes you have difficulties seeing them, they are observing you.

3: Prefer clothes of neutral colour. The strong one like white, red, yellow can be easily seen and so can break the environment harmony.

4: Walk silently.

5: Do not mistreat the fauna and flora.

6: Do not let residues in the place you visit. From the nature just take some pictures and souvenirs. Privilege flasks rather than plastic bottles.

7: Do not throw paper and plastic materials in the toilets.

8: Take out your own insurance.

9: Have your vaccine card updated and with you always, it can be asked at any time. Always bring your personal medicines.

10: Firearms are forbidden.
