Program
DAY 1 – We
pick you up in your hostel at 08:30am to the Rio Preto village (80kms by
road). There we visit the municipal market before leaving in a motorized
canoe to the Malocas Jungle Lodge. On arrival at the Lodge we
will be received by local management who will show you your
accommodation.
Lunch at around 13H30: regional food
made of delicious Amazonian fishes.
After lunch, we will be taken by canoe
through the Igarapés to visit one of our Caboclos neighbors who still
live in similar conditions to their Indian ancestors. Progressively, you
will learn how to survive in the jungle thanks to useful plants (to eat,
to take care of yourself, to build a shelter).
Dinner at around 19h30.
Then you will leave the lodge with
your guide to “hunt” the alligators.
DAY 2 – After
breakfast you will go on a jungle trek. Discovery of a new eco-system
and bath in one the waterfalls that surround the Malocas. After lunch,
you could rest a bit before leaving for a new trek in the deep jungle.
Go back to the lodge to fish piranhas. If you are successful you could
taste them for dinner…
After dinner, Caboclos stories around
the fire.
DAY 3 – Birds
observation at sunrise. After breakfast you will go on a second jungle
trek (different eco system) ending at another waterfall where you could
freshen up before returning.
After lunch, you could rest, swim and
fish.(or go for a night in the forest )
Dinner and fire camp.
DAY 4-
You will leave the Malocas after lunch with your guide for a survival
night. Eventually you could use your new knowledge about living in the
jungle. You will build your shelter and spend an unforgettable night in
your hammock, close to the fire, cradled by the numerous jungle noises.
DAY 5-
After breakfast you will trek back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch,
you will leave the Malocas jungle lodge with a motorized canoe, going
down the river to the Amazon River.
Dinner and night on a beach or a caboclos house.
DAY 6- Discovery
of the special fauna and flora of this area (white water area), fishing.
After lunch, we'll take a regional boat going up the Amazon
River heading to the meeting of the water and Manaus. Dinner onboard.
DAY 7 -
Arrival in the Manaus harbor at around 6 am, right in time to
visit the incredible fruits and fishes markets… we'll perhaps go back
to the meeting of the waters and our program will finish around noon.
Observation
Your
guide can switch the order of the activities depending on the weather
conditions and also on your physical shape. We guarantee you that every
activity will be done though. |
